No, I will not believe that it’s February already. January was one…. strange month. I entered 2021 with an unhealthy and obsessive phase of either binge reading or binge watching anime. Ignoring life was real fun, until, I had to face it again. So, overall, the strange month was not of a good kind.
However, I pulled through (only to face the horrors of Feb) and seem to have an itty-bitty grip on my life. In terms of mental health, I’m still not doing well ( And I have to travel 2 hours everyday starting tomorrow – no, I’m definitely not looking forward to that). It’s been a while since I threw the concept of writing out of the window, mostly because I couldn’t come back to it to edit and always ended up hating what I wrote. Having said that, monthly wrap-ups seemed like a good idea to get back to writing, so here I am!
Now, we get to the good stuff!
In terms of reading, Jan was an absolute beauty. From reading Adult Fiction, YA and LGBTQ+ Literature, I leaped into the SFF world. Man oh man, I’m truly grateful for that. I still read a lot of the above mentioned genres, but for now I’ll talk about all the Fantasy I loved!
Books I read in January: –
- The Way of Kings [Part 1] by Brandon Sanderson
- The Way of Kings [Part 2] by Brandon Sanderson
- The Alloy of Law by Brandon Sanderson
- Shadows of Self by Brandon Sanderson
- The Poppy War by R. F. Kuang [I’m trying to work on a review for this series but damn, that was *frantic gestures*, one heck of a book]
- The Drowning Faith by R. F Kuang
I honestly don’t have the energy or the ability to review The Stormlight Archive but guess who has a favourite epic fantasy author now? I’m currently reading Words of Radiance and I’m loving it so much!
That’s all for this post, kids! Let me know if you’re into SFF, I’d love a rec or two. What have you guys been reading? Do you set up goals and plans specifically for reading or do you go with the flow?
Psssttt come interact, I badly want to befriend readers! ^_^
